Terms of service

Last updated: October 2, 2026

These terms apply when you register for or take part in a program run by Institute of Positive Leadership, LLC, which does business as the Institute of Positive Leadership ("IPL", "we", "us"). By buying a ticket or using the participant hub, you agree to them. If you're registering on behalf of someone else, such as an employee, you agree to them on that person's behalf and will share them with that person.

Who can take part

Our programs are for adults (18 or older) taking part for professional development. Each ticket is for one named participant. Please don't share your ticket, your sign-in links or the session links with anyone else. If you'd like to move your place to a colleague before the program starts, email us and we'll transfer it.

What your ticket includes

The details of each program, including the number of live sessions, dates and times, are on its page on our website when you buy. For Reshape Your Role for the AI Era, general admission includes the three live online sessions, access to the participant hub and workbook, and replays of each session for 30 days after that session. VIP adds the items listed for VIP on the program page at the time you buy.

Sessions run on Zoom. You'll need a reliable internet connection and a device that can run Zoom. We're not responsible for problems with your own equipment, connection or workplace network, but if you miss a session for any reason, the replay is there for you.

Schedule changes

We may need to change a session's date or time, or replace a facilitator, for reasons such as illness. If we do, we'll tell you as soon as we can. If we cancel a program or move it in a way that doesn't work for you, you can choose a full refund (see our refund policy).

Your account and the participant hub

You sign in to the hub with a link we email to you. Keep access to your email account secure, because anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. Tell us right away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

Taking part respectfully

Our sessions work because people speak openly. When you take part, you agree to:

We may remove someone from a program, without a refund, if their behavior makes the program unsafe or unworkable for others. We'd talk with you first wherever we can.

Recordings

We record live sessions so participants can watch the replays. Recordings may include your name, voice, image and anything you say or type in the chat. They're shared only with participants of the same cohort and are removed from the hub 30 days after each session. You can join with your camera off and change your display name in Zoom if you'd prefer. We don't use recordings for marketing without asking you first.

AI tools

Some exercises invite you to use AI tools of your choice. We don't provide those tools and we're not responsible for them, for what they produce or for how their providers handle your information. Please follow your organization's policies on which tools you can use and what information you can put into them. Every exercise has a version that doesn't need AI.

Our materials and your work

Our session content, workbook, hub, prompt pack and other materials belong to us or our licensors. You're welcome to use them for your own professional development, and to keep personal copies, including PDFs of your workbook. Please don't share, resell, publish or use them to run your own training without our written permission.

What you write in your workbook belongs to you. We store it so you can use it across devices. We don't read it except to fix a technical problem you've asked us to help with, and we never share it with your employer. The one exception is the tick-box part of the "My AI starting point" pre-work: your facilitators see those answers combined with the rest of your group, never with your name (see our privacy policy).

What we can and can't promise

Our programs are educational. They're designed to help you think about your role, your strengths and your next steps, and the results depend on how you apply them. We don't guarantee any particular outcome, such as a promotion or a change in your role. Nothing in our programs is legal, financial, medical or mental health advice. Coaching and facilitation are not therapy. If you're dealing with something that needs that kind of support, please reach out to a qualified professional.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything relating to a program is limited to the amount you paid for it. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income or opportunities. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars. Our refund policy explains when you can get your money back.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to you is the one shown when you bought your ticket, unless a change is needed by law or for safety, in which case we'll tell you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.
