Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
This policy explains what personal information the Institute of Positive Leadership (Institute of Positive Leadership, LLC, "IPL", "we") collects, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. It covers our website, workwithipl.com, our participant hub, hub.workwithipl.com, and our programs.
What we collect
When you register:
- your name and email address
- if you choose to give them, your job title, organization and how you heard about us
- payment details, which go directly to Stripe. We see the amount, date and the last four digits of your card, never your full card number.
When you use the participant hub:
- what you write in your workbook, such as your role map, values and reflections
- your tick-box answers in the "My AI starting point" pre-work, such as which AI tools you can use and what gets in your way
- which program you're in, your ticket type and which emails we've sent you
- a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and a copy of your workbook saved in your browser so it loads quickly. These are needed for the hub to work. We don't use advertising cookies in the hub.
When you take part in live sessions:
- recordings of sessions, which may include your name, voice, image and chat messages (see "Recordings" in our terms)
When you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.
We use Brevo to manage newsletter and Make It Real interest-list subscriptions when you consent. We use Replit's Umami website analytics to record page views and successful signup events. These signup events do not include your name, email address or workbook answers.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- give you access to the program and the hub
- send emails you need, such as your welcome email, sign-in links, session reminders and changes to the schedule
- answer your questions and fix problems
- understand who our programs reach and improve them, using job titles, organizations and how people heard about us in summary form
- shape each cohort's sessions around the group's situation. Facilitators see the "My AI starting point" tick-box answers only as a combined summary for the whole group, and only once at least five people have answered, so no one can be identified. Written answers are never included.
- keep records we need for tax and accounting
We send marketing emails, such as news about future programs, only if you've agreed to receive them, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
What we never do
- We never share your workbook with your employer or anyone else, including when your employer paid for your ticket. The combined group summary described above stays with our facilitators.
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't use your workbook or anything you share in sessions to train AI models, and we don't put it into AI tools.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run our programs. They handle your information on our behalf and only for these purposes:
| Provider | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Takes payments and sends receipts |
| Replit | Hosts our website and participant hub, including the database where accounts and workbooks are stored |
| Resend | Sends hub emails, such as sign-in links, welcome emails and reminders |
| Zoom | Runs live sessions and stores recordings |
| Google Workspace | Our email (info@workwithipl.com) and documents |
| Brevo | Manages newsletter and Make It Real interest-list subscriptions and emails |
If your employer paid for your ticket, we may confirm to them that you're registered and whether you attended, but nothing about what you said or wrote.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or if needed to protect someone's safety.
These providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
How long we keep it
- Your account and workbook: for 12 months after your last program ends, so you can come back to your work, then we delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
- Session recordings: removed from the hub 30 days after each session and deleted from Zoom within 60 days.
- Payment and tax records: as long as tax law requires, typically up to seven years.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your account and workbook
- stop sending you marketing emails
Email info@workwithipl.com from the address you registered with. We'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, such as California, the EU or the UK, you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Security
We use providers with established security practices, keep access to participant information to the people who need it, sign you in with single-use links rather than passwords, and encrypt connections to our website and hub. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us right away if you notice anything unusual.
Children
Our programs are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we make a significant change to this policy, we'll update the date above and tell current participants by email.
